Welcome to my very first blog post on my brand new website for Glam by Tam! If you don't already know I'm Tam, the girl who is obsessed with anything sparkly, soft glam and modern, gorgy looks. I am so excited to share my journey with you. (feeling like Lady Whistledown LOL)

What is Soft Glam ?

Before I explain how I got myself here 😋 lets chat about what soft glam makeup is and why I love it so much. Soft glam is all about enhancing your natural features, focusing on a glowing, beautiful base paired with (usually) neutral tones, shimmers and stunning bronzey, blushy colours splashed across the cheeks for that glowing radiance. This style leaves you feeling polished yet effortless (yes it can be done haha) 99.9% of my clients always mention to me that the makeup always feel light and breathable. YOU but enhanced without being to over the top and 'done'.

My Journey: From Sad Salon Manager to Excited and Passionate Business Owner

Lets rewind a bit.. Not to long ago (feeling like I am back in school writing a story in english hahaha anyway back to it 😂) I worked up in London for 10 years, my last position was managing a bustling hair salon. It was an interesting experience, one I did not enjoy. I lost myself here, I had no voice or direction and my creativity was at a halt. I wanted more independence, I wanted to build something on my own with the skills and passion I had for hair styling and makeup, somewhere I could express myself with no worries, no judgement and feel inspired.

I left the salon. It wasn't easy, I had 0 confidence and no clue on how to start a business or gain clients. I was stepping into the unknown with just the ideas in my head and a VERY supportive dad and boyfriend who pushed me 24/7 to believe in myself. Without them Glam by Tam wouldn't exist!

I moved back home and back with my dad and step mum. My dad is one of my best mates, he's hilarious but he takes no bulls*** (in the nicest but also scariest way possible haha) so I had to figure it out. And I did. I spent my last bits of money on bridal hair and makeup courses as well as a course on how to run a business in the bridal industry. I studied everyday, which is something I NEVER did at school 😂😂 I had so much free time and every day my dad would sit me down and literally ask me exactly what I did when he got home from work so he knew I wasn't just sat wasting away watching Netflix and eating chocolate 😅

During this time I struggled big time with anxiety and depression too, having various therapy sessions and CBT all while trying to work on something I didn't know or believe would work or not. I genuinely believed I wasn't good enough and people would laugh at me and I would fail, It took A LOT of therapy, which I still have every week for me to trust in myself and let go of this false impression I had of myself. This is still a journey I am on but wow, I am SO much better (Thank god).

Through all of this my dad finally got us a dog. Buffy.. our little crazy springer spaniel who we rescued. The day she came into my life, all my self doubt and worries become SO much smaller and more manageable. I continued to work hard, learn and build on myself and my business. T

Sure there are still wild moments of self doubt, worry and the thoughts of wtf am I doing? how do I do this? 😂 but seeing Glam by Tam come to life makes it all worth it.

Wedding Season: A Time of Gratitude

As we're in the middle of wedding season, I cant help but feel overwhelmed with gratitude. Each bride, client, family and friend that supports and trusts me with their glam and special day is a blessing. Some might think its cheesy but it really is an honour. (if you are a fellow hmu, you'll totally get this!) Thank you to you all for making this season super busy, fun and unbelievably rewarding... Ok! and finally.. I wuna Thank myself.. 😂 for working my little butt off! ahaha! If you know, you know. (if you don't Youtube Snoop dog speech) ur welcome x

A New Addition to Glam by Tam

Finally, I am so so so excited to introduce you to the latest and fluffiest member of Glam by Tam - Dream. My little baby girl Ragdoll. I lost my 22 year old cat Sasha last year and it truly left a whole in my heart. Dream is

already brining so much love into our lives and obvs I am totally obsessed. Expect to see lots of this little floof ball on my insta stories!!
